Copper Mirror Supplies
Copper mirrors are more unusual and more surprising than gold. Often referred to as “peach mirrors”, the color is a little darker, a little more purple and a little less gold than the color of a new penny – a more masculine color than the “peach” name implies. Copper mirrors contrast beautifully with Silver and Galena mirrors.
Before the backing paint is applied, most mirror coatings transmit some light. The light transmitted by a copper mirror is a deep bluish-green. The artistic possibilities of this phenomenon have yet to be fully explored.
Copper and Galena mirrors require two sensitizers – Tin for Gold and Palladium Sensitizer. If you deposit a copper mirror on a layer of gold instead of palladium, the result is the rose gold of a perfect summer's dawn. For complete instructions, please see Sheet Glass Instructions, 3-D Glass Instructions or Blown Glass Instructions.
